Patient Stories

Zach

Zach’s rehab journey began before he was a year old and he’s been attending underwater treadmill sessions on and off for most of his life. Zach and his brother Tom were born in Alberta, Canada on the 14th of November 2010. Zach had a limp from 6 months old and was finally diagnosed with OCD.

Jett
(Cruciate)

We can’t thank Carmel and Nik enough for the therapy they continue to provide to our Alaskan Klee Kai, Jett. He’s been a patient at the Mosman Park treatment room for over six months, after he ruptured his cruciate ligament and underwent TPLO surgery….

Archie
(Brachial Plexus injury)

At 2 and a half, he was surrendered to a dog shelter and the very next day he escaped and was lost in the bush for 3 weeks….scared and alone, in very wet and wintery conditions. When he was finally found, it was very apparent that he had been injured somehow….His front right leg was just hanging, unusable.

Hugo

Like so many of the unlucky pooches out there, Hugo had the bad fortune to rupture both of his Cranial Cruciate Ligaments. Lucky for him, not at the same time, but as the first post surgical recovery took such a long time with multiple complications alongside…

Yogi
(Spinal
surgery)

Mid 2018 our beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog Yogi Bear did the smallest of movements hopping out of our back door for his favourite kong and suddenly had a startled look which he then went on to deteriorate over the next 24 hours. He progressively lost all movement in his limbs and could only move his head. He was a 65kg big boy so this was terrifying and hard to understand considering no ‘incident’ had occurred.
